Story By Bret Petersen
Skip ahead to Childhood
My name is Bret Petersen and grew up in Brainerd, MN. I attended college at UMD and then moved out to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin a design career working at SF ad agencies. In addition to ad agencies, I also worked at some boutique agencies and startups. Upon moving back to MN I landed in Minneapolis and started thinking about a career change.
I'm currently a web developer but have a previous career as a graphic designer, web animator, web designer, and UX designer. I also have some experience with VR development.
My non-work activities include bicycling, camping, paddle boarding, sailing, enjoying comedy & music, yoga, some auto body repair, among other MN activities.
I look forward to working with everyone at Pheatants Forever that I cross paths with here! Here are some travel and work experience details worthy of sharing.
I absolutely love to travel! Whether I'm with a group of people, a significant other, or alone, I always find traveling to be an exciting and humbling experience. Below is a list of where I've been so far, where I may go next, as well as some trip photos.
What's next? Here are my current list to pick from:

I've been on my own music loving journey since my stepdad gave me a Green Day album in my younger teens. I followed a pretty cookie cutter path of listenting to Sublime, Bob Marley, the Rush Hour soundtrack, and more music I've since forgotten
In college I met my friend Brian. He ran an indie music reviewing website and kept all of his music on the computer in the Audio Visual Department where we worked. This music openned my mind to different possibilities of new, fun, and personal music. After college I moved to San Francisco where I was able to actually see a lot of these indie bands live!
Currently I enjoy listenting to podcasts as well, but when it comes to music I enjoy listening to The Current, and Radio K. I also compile a playlist of The Current's Song of the Day that I can enjoy myself and share with friends. Below is that playlist.
Some lovely and funny cat photos!
